CelebPoker Star in Im CelebPokers resident Texas Hold em coach and established movie actor, Lou Diamond Phillips is playing a whole new game this summer as the star of Im A Celebrity USA. The former professional Poker player and star of Young Guns, who is now the face of the CelebPoker.com Poker School, is proving a big hit in the American version of the show, which also includes Stephen and Daniel Baldwin, brothers of Alec, and Janice Dickinson, who was runner up in the British series in 2007. Its great to see Lou proving such a hit in Im a Celebrity and were hoping hell show the same staying power in the show that hes demonstrated at the Poker table, said David Donovan, Chief Executive Officer of CelebPoker.com. Hes a really charismatic guy, which is why we chose him as one of the faces of CelebPoker.com. The 47-year-old actor, who also directs movies and television shows, entered the show when it began on June 1st and has been game for all the challenges that the shows producers have thrown him, beating all the other contestants to win Hang Tough a game that involved hanging from steel bars above a tank of stagnant water. The team are all glued to the coverage of the show, which we can catch over here on ITV2 and weve got our fingers crossed that Lou can win this one, added David, In some ways its a bit like poker as you need to mask your true feelings and hang in there if you want to win the big prize. Have been losing a lot
I have been putting off talking about this on my blog for quite some time but for honesty reasons Ive decided to include you in on one of the most stressful months for me ever as a poker player. Ill keep it brief, and I wont elaborate on any useless details, but I just feel like its fair I shared this Ive been losing. I usually average one or two losing sessions a week, but over the month of April Ive only had like 5 or 6 winning sessions. Only one big one, and 4 BIG losing sessions, losing well over 5 buy-ins. It looks like Ive hit a fork in the road in my life as a poker player, and it seems like for the first time ever Ill be moving down the limits to allow my bankroll to (hopefully) recover. Its a painful thing to do, but no more $5/$10 for me for a couple months, Im afraid. Please pray for me. I need assistance from Up There. Zynga confident of success with AT&T in new venture
by Sunday,14 Aug 2011 In its first partnership with a mobile provider, Zynga has teamed up with AT&T to provide services for their android Zynga Poker just keeps going from strength to strength as they sign a new contract with AT&T to provide a multitude of games to their wireless customers. Zynga started out as the Facebook application that allowed users to play poker without breaking the anti-online gaming laws enacted by the United States. The fact that Zynga managed to establish a way for their customers to gamble ensured that they were able to grow and branch out into other forms of gaming leading them to the position that they are now in. The fact that players were unable to win any real money prizes by playing on the application didnt stop them from signing up and catapulting Zynga to success. The deal between Zynga and AT&T represents the first of its kind between a wireless operator and the games company though many argue that it simply makes good sense. With android phones and the iphone becoming the most common phones in the market place providing games to customers as part of the network provides a massive enticement to customers to stay with AT&T as well as a great way to attract new ones to the AT&T android phone. The products provided by Zynga will include the same kinds of products that the firm currently provides online but on the AT&T android that is to be released later in 2011. The specifics of the deal are that by buying an AT&T phone the customer will be provided with free credits in order to play Zynga Poker as well as receiving content that has been specially styled for them. In this way AT&T together with Zynga hope to be able to provide an interactive experience that cant be matched by other phone companies. According market research conducted in the United States, one in five Americans has played a mobile, social game in the last 3 months. Zynga and AT&T are looking to take a massive chunk out of an already huge market in order to deliver greater value for money and therefore a new option to US cell phone customers. It is likely that this deal merely marks the beginning of the synthesis between social media applications and mobile phone products. With customers being able to stay online constantly we should expect to see a whole range of new partnerships between games companies and mobile phone providers in the near future.

Full Tilt Poker maintain their gaming license
by Tuesday,23 Aug 2011 In the wake of Black Friday Full Tilt Poker have slid further and further down the totem pole Full Tilt Poker have paid off the 250,000 that was outstanding for their online gaming license to the regulator the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). This means that the poker website could now be a more attractive prospect for investment, or at least that was the thinking behind the AGCCs decision to allow them to continue negotiations with a consortium of European businessmen who are interested in buying the crippled poker giant. The roots of Full Tilt Pokers demise lie in the events that occurred on April 15th 2011 also known as Black Friday. On this day the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) swooped down the top three online poker companies in the world and ejected them from the US market by freezing their bank accounts and their URLs preventing them from operating in the United States. In the wake of these measures the poker firms, Full Tilt, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker were forced to comply with the demands of the DOJ which included repaying their American clients all of the money that they had in their accounts and not marketing themselves in the US. In contravention of this deal Full Tilt Poker failed to pay back their former clients in the US and ended up having their gaming license suspended by the AGCC as a result. The public hearing in the swanky Belgravia neighbourhood of London was supposed to be a full and frank discussion of the issues affecting Full Tilt Poker but instead turned into a farce when the hearing was put behind closed doors after a request by the full Tilt lawyer. As things stand the website has until September to secure a bid for their site from this European consortium behind closed doors. What has really made Full Tilt Poker a source of ire for the online gaming community is that when the AGCC suspended their license they stopped trading and ensured that every single player was unable to gain access to their money wherever in the world they were located, regardless of the laws of their country. Other poker rooms, such as William Hill Poker have been seeing a lot of new players coming to them since the collapse of Full Tilt Poker with the William Hill brand proving a strong incentive to players looking for a safe place to put their money while they play poker.
